The Wedding Details
Wedding Ceremony & Reception
Saturday, September 14, 5:30 p.m.
Venezia Restaraunt
20 Ericsson St., Boston, MA
Please be seated by 5:20pm.
The ceremony will begin promptly at 5:30pm.
If you are unable to make it in time for our ceremony, you are welcome to join us for cocktail hour at 6pm or our reception at 7pm, all at the same location.
Our wedding ceremony and reception will both be at the same location (and both indoors.) Immediately following the ceremony, please join us for a cocktail hour followed by the reception for dinner and dancing. Late night snacks will be provided.
Suggested Attire
The night will be a glamorous and glitzy affair in tribute to our favorite place: Las Vegas. Dress for a night out on the town. The vibe is Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack, feather-adorned showgirls, sequins, jewels, and whatever makes you feel fabulous, darling.
Some may call it "Black Tie Lite" -- you don't need to be in a tux or gown, but you will be out of place in a floral sun dress fit for a garden wedding.
Shuttles
Marriott to Venue: 4:45 PM
Venue to Marriott: 11:40 PM
That's Amore
Though they grew up two towns over from each other, both making annual trips to Saratoga with their families as teenagers, attending the same music festivals in their 20s, and living just an
8-minute drive away from each other in their 30s, it took the help of a dating app for Lia & Ryan to finally find their way to each other (Thanks, Hinge!)
Lia showed up to their first date (coffee) with a scratch ticket, and when it turned out to be a loser, she said, "Well that just means your lucky thing is happening some other time today."
Lucky for Ryan, later that day Lia broke her cardinal rule of not texting first after a date.
Two weeks later they were making music in his home studio. Three weeks later she was in Sicily visiting her family, staying up all night to text him and saying "I miss you" for the first time.
A month later they were boyfriend and girlfriend, and spent the summer meeting each others friends and families, gambling, eating concerning amounts of ice cream and falling deeply, irreversibly in love.
Since then, they've taken their first trip to Saratoga together (and second, third, and fourth,) won and lost money in countless casinos, traveled to 7 states, eaten their way through 2 continents outside of the US, and developed enough bits along the way to build a solid hour on Netflix.
Ryan proposed under the big lights during their most recent trip to Las Vegas. Though they lost at the casinos, they definitely hit the jackpot on this trip.
Getting There
Flying In
Flying into Boston Logan Airport is the best flight option. It's very conveniently located in the city. The easiest way to get from Logan to the Marriot in Quincy (our hotel block) is by grabbing a rideshare or a cab (~30 minutes depending on traffic.) A lower cost option is taking the Logan Express Shuttle to Braintree, and grabbing a rideshare from there (~10 min. drive.)
Shuttle
4:45PM: Marriott Quincy to Venue
11:40PM: Venue to Marriott Quincy
Rideshare
If you choose to stay in Boston, the venue is conveniently located right off the highway. From the center of Downtown Boston to Venezia's is a ~20-30 minute ride depending on traffic.
There is ample parking available at the venue.
Where to Stay
Hotel Room Block
We have a number of reserved rooms available for our guests from Friday 9/13 - Sunday 9/15 at the Marriot Boston Quincy. Please book directly through this link. Must book by 8/23/24 to receive the group rate.
We will run shuttles at the start and end of the night from the Marriot to the venue. The Marriot also offers a free shuttle to the "T" (our city transit system) 5 minutes away that will take you right into Downtown Boston to explore.
Should you want to be walking distance to restaurants and attractions, you may want to book a hotel directly in the city.
While we don't have a hotel room block there, the Best Western Adams Inn is a slightly more affordable hotel that is nearby to the venue as well.
Staying in Boston
Boston is the most beautiful this time of year. Some of our favorite neighborhoods that are easily accessible to the highway for transport to the venue are:
- Beacon Hill (Lia's old stomping grounds, a classic Boston experience)
- The North End (Little Italy)
- Back Bay (The heart of Downtown)
- Seaport (Newly developed area with lots of restaurants and attractions)
Registry & Gifts
Gifts are not expected! Coming to celebrate with us at our big bash is the greatest gift we could ask for. But we understand some people would like to contribute a gift as we venture on our new life together.
Our preference for gifts is Italian Style (cash in an envelope ;) but we have put a few items on a registry for those who would like to contribute in a different way.
Please no boxed gifts or gifts outside of cash or our registry. While we appreciate the thought, our house is quite small!
Cash
We will have a card box at the wedding, or if you prefer digital payments you can contribute via the methods below.
Venmo: @Rosalia-Cefalu
Paypal: @RosaliaCefalu
We'll use this money to help with family planning as we start this new chapter of our life together. As always, gifts are not expected, please do not feel obligated!
